After living in Iran for two and a half years, Fared Shafinury wrote and recorded the song Harfa in the Fall of 2008 in Tehran. Inspired by a long lost love, a grandmother's loss of her husband, the song ends with the famous first verse from "Divan-e Hafez". Fared is a Texas born & raised Iranian-American singer/song-writer, and setar virtuoso. He blends classical Persian musical techniques with indie rock sensibilities. The song "Harfa" (Words) will be featured on Shafinury's forthcoming full length album "Behind the Seas" 2009 © fared shafinury.

Harfa (Words):
Where did all the words go to?
The ones that we once used to speak with.
Will they or will they not come back?
I do not know the answer to that question.
.They seem to have wandered off aimlessly from one place to another,
flying about like moths & butterflies.
With just one glance, as quick as the burn of a flame; all the words have disappeared.
There is nothing more to say.
"O beautiful wine-bearer, bring forth the cup and put it to my lips
Path of love seemed easy at first, what came was many hardships. " -Hafez
