Collage Workshop with Armando Ruiz and Nancy Baker Cahill

Armando Ruiz and artist collaborator Nancy Baker Cahill will discuss the unique process of creating “Unprecedented,” and lead a collage workshop at the Levantine Cultural Center. Ruiz and Baker Cahill will also share about the art program at Homeboy Industries, an organization that assists at-risk and formerly gang-involved youth in becoming positive contributors to society.

Film Screening: Sweet Old Song

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a screening of Sweet Old Song at Lucy Florence Cultural Center!  The film shares an intertwined tale of love and creativity between artists Howard "Louie Bluie" Armstrong and Barbara Ward. Armstrong performed for most of his nearly 100 years of life, ever since his father carved his first fiddle from a wooden crate.
