Zine Workshop

Zines are self-published, handmade, photocopied booklets. This workshop, hosted by L.A. Zine Fest, will delve into Zine history and also show you how to turn a sheet of paper into an eight-page platform for your creativity. The guiding theme will be Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), and we’ll explore who we are and what defines us. All materials will be provided, but you’re encouraged to bring your own photos, images, and writings.

Whether you are a novice or expert printer, join other like-minded folks for our printmaking sessions that offer space, basic supplies, and casual instruction. Materials for various relief printing processes, collograph, and monotype are on hand. A small etching press and letterpress are also available for use. For ages 17 years + up.

Fifty years ago, a series of experimental workshops at the Toledo Art Museum became the touchstone of the studio glass movement. Since then, the glass art field has flourished, with artists embracing a wide variety of techniques and engaging with contemporary art practices. Glenn Adamson, head of research at London's Victoria & Albert Museum, will cast this history in a new light.
