Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival 2012
Submissions welcome as of November 1, 2011 until February 1, 2012
LOS ANGELES, CA, July 26, 2011 - The 4th Annual Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival 2012 has officially been announced, calling on individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life to submit short films visualizing some aspect of Iranian art, culture, and heritage. Now in its fourth year, the Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival 2012 offers contestants the opportunity to compete for $10,000 (first prize), $5,000 (second prize), and $3,000 (third prize).
Submissions are to be less than 9 minutes in length, can be of any genre or style, visualizing any aspect of Iranian art, history, culture, crafts, geography, cuisine, or lifestyle that will inspire and spark the audience's interest in learning more about Iranian culture and heritage.
Farhang Foundation is a non-religious, non-political, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to celebrating and promoting Iranian art, culture, and heritage for the benefit of the community at large. In keeping with the spirit of Farhang Foundation, it is advised that submissions refrain from endorsing or opposing any religious or political position.
All entries will be judged for creativity, quality, and originality by a diverse jury comprised of film industry professionals, academicians, and Farhang Foundation's Film Festival Committee and Board of Trustees. Finalists will be invited to attend a special awards ceremony during which the first, second, and third place winners will be announced before a live audience.
Organized by Farhang Foundation, the Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival is an online film festival that promotes and celebrates Iranian culture through the cinematic arts and receives submissions from all over the world.

About Farhang Foundation
Farhang Foundation is a non-religious, non-political and not-for-profit foundation established in 2008 to celebrate and promote Iranian art, culture and heritage for the benefit of the community at large. The foundation supports academic activities in Southern California by funding university programs, publications and conferences.
